Payment Verification Procedure

1. What is Payment Verification Procedure?

Payment Verification Procedure is a routine payment confirmation for a standard anti-fraud check, to ensure the benefit of both the cardholder and the merchant. The Purpose of this procedure is to confirm that the payment was indeed made or authorized by the cardholder.

2. And Why I am being asked to confirm the payment?

Sometimes, unfortunately, fraudsters gain access to credit card details or PayPal accounts , and try to use the stolen details to pay for purchase online. When you pay for the purchase, the payment from your credit /debit card or PayPal account is processed by a third party instead of Geekbuying directly. Therefore we have no access to any of your financial details or your credit card details.

This is why we have to confirm whether the payment was authorized by the payment account holder or not. To protect everyone against unauthorized online payments, we have to complete these payment verifications with our customers randomly.

3. What should I do to complete this Payment Verification Procedure?

An email for payment verification confirmation will be sent to your Geekbuying account by our payment verification team. You need to reply and follow the instruction on the email:
PROOF THAT YOU ARE THE PERSON WHO PAID THE ORDER
Or
PROOF THAT THE CARD HOLDER MADE/AUTHORIZED THE PAYMENT, if the order was paid by someone else.

4. What proof should I send to complete the procedure?

You need to provide 2 types of documents, the picture of the PAYER'S CREDIT CARD and the PAYER'S ID PROOF. THE PICTURES SHOULD BE CLEAR , IN COLOR AND WITH A SIZE BELOW 2 MB.

DOCUMENT FOR PAYER'S CREDIT CARD

The payer's credit card picture ( in color)PLEASE SHOW THE FOLLOWING DETAILS:
• the 4 last numbers
• the expiry date
• the cardholder's name
Please refer to the example below;

DOCUMENT FOR PAYER'S ID PROOF

A picture proving THE PAYER'S ID AND DISPLAYING HIS NAME (in color) such as:
• PASSPORT PHOTO PAGE
OR
• NATIONAL ID CARD
OR
• DRIVER LICENSE

PLEASE HIDE

• the ID/Passport/Driving license number
• the Date of birth and The Personal information for your privacy

THIS IS A ONE-TIME CHECK ONLY. ONCE WE CONFIRM THE ORDER WE WILL PROCESS IT RIGHT AWAY

5. What type of documents will you refuse?

We will refuse blurry pictures, or pictures that are so small pictures that we cannot read them clearly.

6. How can I protect my privacy ?

HIDE any sensitive data such as date of birth,ID, Driver and passport's number. The name must still be shown clearly.

7. What‘s the next step after providing the requested documents?

We will review it and delete them from our system right away. We will not share nor sell any of your details to a third party in accordance with our privacy policy. And the order will be processed right away.

8. When do I need to answer and provide you the documents?

We will contact you via your account and will notify you by email too.

We expect your reply with the documents within 2 business days after we sent the message. A timely response to this procedure will help speed up the order processing and will be highly appreciated.
